I don't think he means "peltier" as in Peltier element. This wouldn't even work as shown in the picture.

Yeah, it's just sold as 'peltier heatsink' on Aliexpress 😀 It's a standard aluminum 40mmx20mmx1?mm cheapset heatsink

Yesterday I also bought a Copam PC-401A XT clone that need a bit of cleaning/repair after Varta jizzed on it and received some MIDI cables, among them a proper DB15 to MIDI cable.

Somehow it didn't occur to me that the Bios might have failed. I gave it a go and flashed the EEPROM with the latest BIOS (still available on the ASUS website) and... the board POSTS!

Yeah, ended up paying 700 kr as I wasn't the only one interested. The seller warned me that it hadn't been powered on in 20 years so I took no chance doing it myself either. I'm a little worried about a GAL chip that suffer most from the leakage on the card which contains the RAM, RTC, game and COM port, but the PCB seems fine. I'll guess that one isn't easy replaceable. There are some leakage on the motherboard itself, but it hasn't done much if any damage at all.

I have tested both the 360k floppy drives and they're working just fine with the floppies I got with it. Also the monitor powered on, but haven't tested it as the Copam is the only PC I got with TTL video output.

Thanks! It's in nice condition too, the seller said he bought it as NOS.

So I made a few finds today, including a working floppy drive and floppies, but more importantly:

A Top Gun Joystick that I need to find drivers for, somewhere.

Some fans that I intend to somehow strap to my Pentium 2

An Aureal Vortex 1

And an Audigy 2 ZS as a backup.

Careful with the monitor though. The monitor that came with my XT machine (which probably sat for 20 years) exploded into smoke after being powered on for 10 minutes. Still have to repair it

How much is an SC-55 worth these days, a clean one? There is an unboxed one for sale locally for around $130 and I think that's way too expensive..

I see them regularly go for around around 100€ or more 🙁
all the other midi modules I have I got for 50€ or less, even the MT-32 (though that was me getting lucky I guess)... hence why I'm still missing a SC-55, not really willing to pay that much... yet.

I got mine for 40€. It is in excellent condition and uses the 1.20 ROM.

40EUR/50USD is about the price I had in mind too, which is why I kind of balked at the 130USD price tag on this one. Regardless, I passed on it.
