silly little problem but when i go full screen the game display is very dark and is ruing my enjoyment of the game...i have used dosbox previously and i was able to change the size of the window so it was almost the same size as the full screen display but with no loss of brightness/color.
At the moment the dosbox window is about a quarter of my full moniro display and it hurts having to squint at such a small display...and idea how i can change width/height of the dosbox window?

SEARCH the forum. Read the readme. This has been asked several times.

EDIT:

Do you have latest video drivers for your videocard?

Have you tried setting different graphic outputs inside DOSBox?

You could try setting fullfixed=true, and fullresolution to your desktop resolution (eg. fullresolution=1280x1024) in dosbox.conf. Using a high resolution may cause slowdown though.

Obvious thing comes to mind though - can't you just turn the brightness up on your monitor when it's dark? Modern monitors keep brightness/colour/etc settings independently for each screen mode.
