How to open up a Socket 3 CPU socket?

I have two Socket 3 motherboards.

One of them is completely dead, but has a functional CPU socket.

The other is completely functional but has a broken socket lever.

I want to open up the sockets, and transplant the lever and upper part of the functional socket to the working motherboard.

Problem: I can't figure out how to take it apart..

Anyone got a video or something of how this can be done?

Done that million times, you must have specific tools for different types of sockets, though. Post some pictures.

This type of ZIF socket is easy to deal with, it's being held only by 2 wide clips per side. Cut out a strip from a 0.7 - 1mm thick iron sheet, that would be identical in width to the clip's pit minus 1mm, sharpen its tip, if it won't fit in the pit nicely.

Start off with the clip, that is closest to the edge on either side, insert newly made tool into the pit and push it inwards, after releasing the clip, lift upper part of the socket a bit, so that it wouldn't clip back. Repeat this procedure on the next clip on the same side, good luck.
