Windows 98 link arrow won't vanish!

Hello,
Perhaps it sounds like nothing. But it is very annoying for me. I tried tweak UI as well as tuneup 97 but I can't manage to get rid of that goddam link arrow for linked programs on my windows 98 desktop. Although I've chosen "nothing" or just a blank icon it always shows this little arrow. What am I missing...?

There's a glitch in the matrix.
A founding member of the 286 appreciation society.
Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

And everything is already done in the registry as it is described there
..but no change

So how to exorcise it.... The demons name is link arrow... But it is one hell of nuisance.

I will go on and make a fresh installation of windows 98. Maybe I installed something that interferes with this option in tweak UI. Can't guess what it could be...

Found it! Every time i install this service pack 3 for w98se the arrow comes back.

Strange... I did this registry thing again and now they are gone.
