I received these 3 cards today. Was sure I made a good and fair deal by offering 50€: Voodoo2, Voodoo3 and a IDE-controller with ROM, will put a XT-IDE on it. All cards looking good, but 2 caps of the V2 broke during shipment.

But...what mistake did I make? 🙁 🙁 🙁

yeah the price wasn't that great of a deal or anything, but I can use all of the parts in it and if everything works... like if you add up the 5,25" floppy drive, board, gpu, case etc it adds up.

@gex that Rage Fury MAXX is an awesome score 😀 most of the cards in that lot really... I also like that case a lot, had an ATX variant of it for my PII

The caps are easy to replace. They are 10µF 16VDC SMT caps. I recommend 105C caps and long life ones (2000 hrs would be sufficient). I broke 1 cap off of my first VooDoo2 card and the other one was dinged up. Attempted to fix my own, but, before I recapped it, the card wasn't working with the OS anymore.

Never hurts to have a VooDoo2 card for systems with PCI only, though.

STB VELOCITY 4400

still a nice card :p
also voodoo2s tend to go for more than €50 usually, so it wasn't a crap deal either.

Rage Fury MAXX! Judging by the amount of dust on the heatsinks and fans, this thing has seen very little use. Great overall condition.

The "mystery VGA card" turned out to be a SiS 6326. Somewhat interesting since I never owned such a card before (mostly because there is no real reason why you would want one of these, as far as I can tell). However it amazed me that SiS still has the drivers all the way from DOS up to Win2k available for download on their website:

Otherwise the lot contained:
- 1 CPU AMD Athlon XP 2000+ / 266MHz FSB
- 1 Sound Blaster (Ensoniq) ES1370 PCI 😀
- 1 GeForce GT220 low-end PCIe graphics card
- 2 ATX power supplies, apparently barely used
- 3 optical drives, one of them being a brand new Samsung with front bezels in silver, black and beige
- 3 floppy drives, one of them with a black front bezel
- 1 iomega Zip drive
- various heatsinks, ranging from Socket 7/370 to what seems like Socket 1151
- a NOS Revoltec VGA cooler for GF4 + FX, including memory heatsinks
- a pair of Devolo dLAN adapters (USB and ethernet over power line)
- 4 or 5 PCI USB 2.0 adapters that I have absolutely no use for
- 1 PCI FireWire adapter
- 1 D-Link cardbus Gigabit Ethernet adapter
- 2 USB Smartcard Readers
- 3 pairs of 3.5" to 5.25" HDD adapters
- 3 PCI ethernet cards with different chipsets
- 1 PCI SATA Raid Controller
- 1 cheap old USB webcam (as cheap as it can possibly get)
- 4 sticks of DDR3 RAM, 1GB each
- a medium-sized pile of cables, mostly USB, IDE, SATA and 4-pin molex to SATA adapters

At least two thirds of this lot will go back to eBay, especially all those USB 2.0 cards and some of the heatsinks.

Still being on the hunt for a decent AT midi tower case for my Tyan Trinity based SS7 build, I came across a nearly complete system on eBay (seller's photo):

This is Morex case. I own one since it was new (still looks very decent) - but mine has removable side panels. Pretty good quality case, perfect for Super Socket 7 platform. Also it will work with AT and ATX form factor motherboards (it has IO shields for both types).

I had the same case back in 1997 housing a PII 350.

I got tired of waiting for a GeForce 2 Ultra that was priced to my liking, so I grabbed this GeForce 2 Pro:

But before it had even arrived, my favorite Ultra popped up. Sometimes when you want something, you just have to pony up:

I also picked up a couple of Zip drives. I was mostly interested in the bezels, so naturally I ripped one clean in half when the packaging snagged on the bezel during removal:

And finally this Pentium-M desktop board. I love these things. The accessories are still sealed, and the board itself looks brand new. If anyone has the DFI version gathering dust, send me a PM.

Ordered some PCB's and all the discrete components yesterday. Going to make some XT-AT keyboard converters, and a few Adlib clones.

Got this purple ati 7500 for the price of the delivery (2 euros) and, I'm a bit stumped after looking at it more closely.... seems to be made in 2005, but its a 2001 model, why were they still making them in 2005? Also, heatsink seems to be oem and is glued to the gpu chip, but pcb has mounting holes and even a fan connector?
