Quake3, what else?

Good question. Q3A was the only SMP-capable game from this era, and I'm no Q3A fan (too slow for it, even back in 1999, now far, far too slow), plus two Celerons are pretty underpowered for it anyway. Maybe dig up a copy of BeOS and watch the teapot slow down or speed up as I disable/enable CPUs on the fly.

There were a few other SMP games. Falcon 4 comes to mind.

Nice ! How much did the ST05X cost you ? Somewhere in my storage I have a few real 8bit IDE and SCSI HD cards but never found a working ST05x yet. You should save the BIOS files and upload them here if possible, last ST05x I saw was missing the BIOS chip so was useless since no BIOS files existed at the time....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Decided to go ahead and get one of these for my ZX81:

Also going to get one of these to go with it:

🤣

Or I suppose I could hot glue the thing, but Blu Tack is much easier to clean off at a future date.

I received an extended port replicator and a memory upgrade module - both for the Libretto - today.

Yesterday, I bought a PIII-S 1.4/512/1.45V Tualatin processor for $13 on eBay and the day before, a new Harley Davidson twin engine Hallmark Christmas ornament from 2000 to replace the broken one (repairs were attempted, but the motor seized up and wouldn't move). Do Christmas ornaments count from the past 19 years count?

Not vintage computer hardware, but I bought some parts required to make my Technics SP10mk2 (one of the best turntables ever made) sing again.

Eh, close enough. It's a retro turntable, correct? My dad had a Kenwood turntable and has an Ion USB turntable for digitizing records for iTunes.

Yep, a retro turntable, produced in 1975-1985.

^^ it's a shame S3 Metal Crossfire was never a thing or that would make a pretty neat card for Unreal. BTW this reminds me I have to go check my PO box... 😉

Is that one GPU per display output? Showing as two separate cards?

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

It should be one GPU per output yes, but I wonder that myself, if they'll just work in DOS or need special drivers... the Trios are labeled master/slave at the back, haven't found a manual yet.

Got a new vintage camera; it's my late grandpa's Edixa Standard.

Nothing rare or mindblowing, but a neat little entry-level SLR from the 50s. It comes with an intact leather case, a big leather box for all the extra stuff and even the interachangeable waist-level viewfinder -- which is nice if, like me, you wear glasses and have trouble properly seeing through a prism viewfinder. Everything was neatly wrapped and labled by my grandpa too.

Nice. Do you still use analog camera's and if so why?

Can you use one of these with a CF card (and adapter) or are they only compatible with specific types of IDE HDD's?

Nice. How would this card perform in a PMMX 200 or so? It would be interesting to benchmark it.

Today I got some interesting cards for around £20 total. Not pictured are two Socket 7 boards (Soyo 5TA2 & Gigabyte GA-586ATX) that were also in the lot, I really need to start clearing some of those out 😀

The attachment November22ndcards-1.jpg is no longer available

The main reason I bought this was for the Kingston ATaboard memory card, which I couldn't find much information on. It'll be interesting to see if that can work, the 286 board I've got could make good use of it if I can get that 286 working.
The Opti 924 soundcard with clone OPL3 is pretty nice, the SCSI card could potentially be useful too.

The attachment November22ndcards-2.jpg is no longer available

From some quick searching, the big card up top is a floppy card from an IBM 5150 - IBM 5.25" Diskette Drive Adapter. Not too useful to me as I don't have any XT computers.
The ISA video cards are nice though, but more basic than I was hoping, I'm guessing they came from a couple of 286 PCs or very basic 386s.
