Always nice to find a use for your old daily driver.
I'd add a creative sound card. EAX is one of XP's big selling points, SBLive! upto the PCI X-Fi's will work in XP

RoyBatty: What benchmarks to run on it? Any advice?
Chinny22: I have a Sound Blaster Audigy PCI in a box. Maybe worth to put in there? Because I use onboard sound, and the SoundMax is good however.

The Audigy would be a very good card for a XP build.

Quality may/may not change but If any of your games support EAX 4 or earlier you'll get more realistic sound.

I have an Sound Blaster Audigy SB0230 PCI. It is good? What Audigy is this from the part number (SB0230)?
I wasn't sure that had EAX 3. It is true?

Looks like the SB0230 is a OEM version, That doesn't matter it can still do EAX3.
You just need the drivers from here rather then the generic ones
Sound Blaster Audigy SB0230 Windows 98 and XP drivers

Most important is the Audigy chip if it has EMU10K2 written on it then EAX will be done in hardware.
If it has CA0106 then EAX will be in software, but as you already own it I would still use it rather then going out and spending more money.

As i remember i've got 9300 3dmarks 2001 on radeon 9100 back in the days.. on athlon 1700+ palomino.. so results seems to be pretty low.
9100 is sure better video card, but not so much better, maybe it's the test4 (fisher etc) which doesn't run at all on mx..
//up to now i have sempron 2500+ as my second quake1/3 machine.
//your Burton is qool for sure! Congratulations!
