Hi everybody!! 😀)

I've also got some DOSBox-wishes:

What about SoundBlaster AWE32-Emulation? Some better DOS-Games can also use AWE32. So it would be great to enjoy their better sound also with DOSBox. 😀

Let's call it "Auto-Cycle". I'm no programmer, so I'm not sure if this suggestion is possibe to realize at all, but I make it anyway. 😀
Wouldn't it be nice, if DOSBox adjusts the speed-settings (cycles,...), which a program or a game need automatically? Well, maybe, it's even impossible, but maybe also not, so I suggested it.

more exact key-recognition:
It seems, that DOSBox doesn't distinguish between some keys. I realized it especially by using the arrow- and numpad-keys. For example: arrow-left and numpad-4 is for DOSBox the same. It would be nice if it wouldn't be so. I realized it, when I tried to configure the keys in a game. I wanted to config it with the arrow-keys for the directions and the numpad-keys as fire- and so on buttons. Example: numpad-2 = fire, arrow-down = down. So I got rather surprised, when I saw, that the game's setup said numpad-2, when I pressed arrow-down. And from former days, in my real DOS-times I know, that the game and it's setup make a difference between arrow- and numpad-keys. So I guess, that this is something, that needs to be improoved in DOSBox.

The last VERY important: a better pause-function.
In the old DOS-times it was so: Some games accepted the pause-button, some not. Now it seems to be, that the pause-button doesn't have an effect. Here an example: Monkey Island: The text went a bit to fast for me, and so I wanted the system to get into pause. I pushed the pause-button, but it didn't have an effect. After this I tried the Ctrl+Pause Hotkey of DOSBox, but also this didn't have an effect. Then I started my PC with a DOS-Boot-Disc, started the game, and suddenly it stopped, when I pushed the pause-button (like I know it from former DOS-times).
Especially for visual impaired people is a pause-function very important, because, the text in adventure-games often goes too fast for being able to read everything.
So PLEASE, improove the pause-function.

OK, that's it. I hope, these suggestions will be noticed.

The best greetings
Flo

MI1 doesn't have an ingame text slowdown/speedup function?

Your other wishes have been gone over billions of times before.

Is the key problem a game problem or is this for all games?

i think, why not include pkunzip.exe or ZIP uncompression for unzip some zipped files??

i say this because some times, you'll found some games........compressed in ZIP format 😉)

and .rar format and .ace and .lhz and .7z and....etc.

DosBox is an emulator not a utilities compilation. Although I do think we should compile a useful DOS freeware package and mabye a windows one too.

There's little point in including a DOS de-archiver. How many OSes don't have utilities to handle ZIP/LHZ/RAR?
