I'm running dosbox on a Debian Linux system.
I have two USB keyboards (kinesis + logitech cordless) and one
PS/2 keyboard (kinesis).

On all three keyboards, the shift keys work only for letters.
Shift - ; does not produce :
Shift ' does not produce "
and so on. Shift does not work with numbers.

I've fired up the keyboard mapper within dosbox but can't see a workaround. Anybody have any experience with this?
(CPU is AMD Sempron 3300+, ASUS motherboard (K8N))

OK, turns out this is a known problem with the Debian package ---- some nasty interaction with SDL.

I downloaded a build of a recent CVS and am now running System Shock (albeit with no sound). Will try to get sound tomorrow.

I have the same issue.. glad it's a bug and not just me.

I'm hoping they fix this in Debian soon, since I just bought a dos game I relly want to play since I missed it the first time around in 1997 when it was originally released..

Basically I just posted so if someone replies to this thread saying its fixed I'll get a notification.

This has been reported as a bug on the debian package, so you can probably watch that...

Still confirming this bug on an up-to-date Ubuntu 6.02.1 LTS Dapper system on an iBook G4 as of 2006-09-24.

Tried usescancodes=false/true in the dosbox config?
If it misbehaves for both, what keyboard layout are you using?
