Has anybody used a NEC LCD2190 (think they go under LCD2190UXP and LCD2190UXI too) 1600x1200 4:3 LCD monitor for DOS use? It's a TFT active matrix, which can do 50 to 85Hz (I've read that although IPS has better color, most won't do 70Hz which many DOS games are in). I know DOS compatibility can be on a per-monitor-model basis, and I can't find any information about this one. I did find one reference on this forum to the older 2090 version, but that's it (and don't know how similar they really are in this regard). I want to make sure this monitor plays nice on some of the weird DOS resolutions. Specs say:
Anybody have any experience with DOS on this monitor before I buy one? I have a 140Hz CRT monitor, but lack a desk with ~30"+ worth of depth I would need for a monitor like that right now.
I'm also open to ANY other recommendations which are currently available in the USA. The kicker is it HAS to be in WHITE or even SILVER color (NO black), ~20", 4:3 ratio. They stopped making 4:3's for the most part years ago, and finding a non-black one (so it doesn't look so out of place on my all beige retro P3 system) has been extremely hard (been looking since I started this project about 3 weeks ago). Models I know of so far are: Samsung 214T, NEC LCD2090UXI, NEC LCD2190UXI, Dell p1917s, Nec P212 – all of which were are available in a white color (just can't find them for sale right now, or they want like $1000 for a 10 year old monitor).
