Nope, dreaded CMD640 chipset for IDE. Cannot use this chipset. I rather desolder that chip and use PCI IDE card with reliable chipset.

Cheers,

Forget to install the driver? Maybe that is your problem.

Dont know if the included driver will work, but you could try it out.
Also have other ones. But its all on your own risk.. Can garantee you nothing.

I got those drivers from the older websites by searching on web.archive.

More photos

It looks like a Bravo LC at the back and inside. Great find.

No, I have a Bravo LC 4/33 Multimedia edition 1993 too. It’s a little thinner but basically the same configuration.
This is the “AST Advantage Adventure” model. It’s a little nicer looking case. Looks more like a workstation model.

Wow, where did you find that? I bought a pair of them a year ago, quite used - essentially the smallest MicroATX case I've yet found that has regular height expansion slots and a 5.25" bay. It's one of my favourite cases, but be aware that tall ISA cards like the AWE64 might not fit, I had to remove (dremel'd off) part of the outer case to fit larger cards in there.

There's a guy on eBay selling them. His listing says he has a few of them but he is selling them one at a time.

With "Cannot use this chipset." he refers to the fact that this chipset is so bugged that you can not use it. It corrupts data when a DMA transfer happens during IDE activity, it can not use more than one device at the same time, even on different IDE channels, etc.

While it isn’t PC hardware, I managed to find this little beauty locally.

It’s in relatively nice condition for an older model, being a straight 3010 with Snail Maze as the BIOS game.

I got a box full of old IBM 5.25 floppy diskettes. They are an IBM Subscription.
I just wanted some 5.25 floppy diskettes to try out on my computer.
I have not used one since 1993.

Does anyone know anything about what type of software is on these diskettes ?
Is it just a bunch of FREE ware ?
It’s over 100 diskettes.

And a lot of 4 Intel-486dx2-66 CPU’s.
For cheap.

It's written on the labels what software is on the disks.

This mouse is my absolute favourite retro mouse ever. The soft clicks of those three weirdly shaped buttons is just so ooomph! I got one from work years ago, it was used hell knows where, had oil/grease all over it and even soldering colophony. Now it's beautiful and shiny, finally treated with some respect. I think yours should be packed with a green mousepad with its image. I have seen a few such pads at work, but they were all so worn and dirty that I did not even think of trying to get one.

I like how there are words "No interface needed" on the box 😁

One of these.... I am going to use it in my Amiga600.

Microdrive, 4gb and Workbench plus WHD Loader installed.

I wouldn't recommend using a MicroDrive as a HDD replacement. They were not made for that and will fail quickly when using them this way. Even when only used for some hours a week, they had a given lifetime of two years.

Moreover, better buy that from Cloanto directly. Cloanto doesn't sell this on MicroDrives, so it's not legit (should be obvious, as it comes with tons of games with no licence and no one should support such morons who make money by selling illegal game collections).

Lately I've been obsessing over WiNDy 星野金属 (Hoshino Metal) cases that were made in Japan in the late 90s. I finally decided to buy this guy to put my 24 core ARM board in (not retro I know, but the case is).

I guess I could have a custom mouse mat made. I remember those green ones!

The „no interface“ is probably in contrast to bus mice which came with their own interface cards.

If it comes with an official license, then it comes with an official license. I have no way of checking if they are legit or not.
It is the same with Windows. If a private person sell you a computer with an official license, then it is official.
All I can do, is to rely on that it is a real one. Once I recieve it, then I will register it, and then I will find out if it is real or not.

Anyway....
If I have a kickstart in my Amiga, then I am alowed to run the version of Workbench that corespond to the Kickstart version.
And it just so happens that I have a Kickstart 2.x in my Amiga600. How else would it work at all?

The games are a completely different story. I can always delete them if I like.
