Yes, prices are not that bad. I always sell the parts I Do not need again and I am rather surprised what I get. Buyer is the same company in many cases. So in overall I Do not pay much for the few parts I keep...

I wish I could manage the stress of selling stuff, I got quite a bit of stuff that isn't useful anymore (got a whole big box full of TV tuner cards) and recoup some of the costs.

also... after years I finally managed to acquire a Model M
it's missing the SDL cable unfortunately but that was the reason it wasn't that ridiculously expensive I guess.
and hey, I'd rather have all the caps instead, idk how many I've seen with caps missing and still fetch higher prices.

The attachment hardware36_18.jpg is no longer available

(and before someone asks, yes I made sure it's not a rubberdome, there was a picture of the label too and I checked under the caps already ^^)

The rubber dome Quiet Touch versions have a blue sticker, so no, not going to ask that 😉

well idk, like I said I never had a Model M before ^^
I was going by wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_keyboard
according to that the german rubber dome variant has the gray on oval logo as well.

but it is a 1391403 built in 1988 😀
looks quite good for 32 years honestly ^^

Have M or two too still, noisy keyboard indeed and great for fast paced games.

Cheers,

Great Northern aka Canada.

Got an original SBLive! with the daughter card for a decent price. I bought one of these brand new in 1998 for $160 from a store going out of business, still remember that time in detail. Stoked to put this in one of my 98 SE builds:

Also received my MSI K7T266 Pro2 socket A motherboard in the mail today. Came with an Athlon XP 1900+ and I think I'm going to dual boot 98 SE and 2000, possibly also XP as a third boot option. Haven't decided which GPU to run on this one yet, I suppose probably an early GeForce. We'll see after I think on it more.

So, I bag on recycling outfits a lot because they destroy lots of cool things. After emailing almost every place in the country I got a response from just one really nice dude who sold me the NOS 486.

Today, a little something arrived in the mail. He found the original disks that came with the machine, along with the wee caddy and just posted them.

s5OW664.jpg

Quite sweet, eh? Dos 6.2, Windows 3.1 the original driver disks, all as new and possibly unused.

Your video card is upside down.

No it isn't...

Yeah, all the disks have that on them.
What makes me think this machine was unused was the complete lack of any dust at all inside. Even the power supply. I broke the seal to check it and there's nothing. Not even any anything on the tips of the fan blades. It's all like it was fresh out of the factory.

EDIT: The thing you see on the desk is the socket7 machine I rescued from the dump.

Warum???

All the other internationalized versions have blue logo, I'm looking at a 71G4622 (NL version) as I type this.

Nice, one of the second generation, shipped with PS/2. Solid as hell.

Imi...! 😉 You missed a GUS and a V3. I would have paid this for the GUS clone alone... (sellers photo)

Already Arrived. The GUS seems to be this one:
https://retronn.de/imports/hwgal/hw_primax_mu … ic_sound.html#0
So it seems to be an original Gravis card.

Dont think the other AGP cards are of interest? Maybe the one in the middle (GF7300GT).

My newest addition to the "fleet", the awesome Toshiba libretto 100ct.... Wasn't running when I committed to buy, but luckily the reason why it didn't post was because the hdd was fried. Replaced the hard disk, and now "...It's Alive !!! "

The attachment libretto_100ct.jpg is no longer available

I also removed the infamous Ni-MH cmos battery, a must have in all Toshiba's of the era.

This is Primax SoundStorm M16B. It's not 'original Gravis' card, but Primax card, although some of them were sold by Gravis as their own product under name UltraSound CD3 (see: https://collection.batyra.pl/soundcards/gravis/cd3 ). Still a Primax product (which is not the bad thing, as their build quality is considered to be better than Gravis).

That's one handsome machine! If you want a new NiMh battery, a direct replacement is Varta 2V/15H. You'll have to change the connector though. They are the same type, so no soldering required.

OFFS. How the shit did I not notice that?

Fuck, I'm an idiot.

Yes, I did that when I was cleaning up the brackets. I guess it'll actually be a problem if I ever find a case for this thing. The old one is scummy as hell, so was just planning on maybe screwing the pentium to my office wall until I find a case I like

Good day today. Bought another Original Xbox (2004, might be a 1.4 or 1.5, will open up, inspect, repair, and remove the clock cap) and a phat PS2 bundle (2 Logitech wireless controllers, cables, and the console) all for a good price of $60. Both systems will be soft modded and the phat PS2 will get an HDD installed for putting games onto the drive (rip from my previous collection and recently acquired games) and figure out if the PS2 can have the games saved to the HDD or not.

Damn that's a good price! Especially with those Logitech controllers. I used to collect video game consoles and accessories, used to have about 5 of those Logitech controllers for PS2 and 3 or 4 for the Xbox, paid about $10 for each, when the local used shop had that stuff in abundance. But I'm an idiot, I went through a phase where I decided to sell almost all of my collection. Stings like a bitch when I think about it. I had a TON of stuff, nice stuff.

Anyway, good luck with the mods. Hopefully the Xbox is not a 1.6 so you can flash the TSOP. I have 2 Xecuter X3 chips, one already installed and the other one still new in the box. Also have a Duo3 Gold chip for the PS2, and I've been on the lookout for a DMS 4 Pro, but that one has proven elusive. One day...

Took delivery of a Compaq Evo n600c - suppoedly the "ultimate DOS compatible" 2 spindle P3 laptop,.

Evo+n600c.jpg

Why? Tualatin P3m CPU (all the way to 1.1 GHz), i830MP chipset, ATi Radeon M6, and an ESS Maestro 3/Allegro chipset, which is supposed to offer both DOS mode SB emulation and AC97 support all in a relatively svelte 5 lb package (technically the Dell Inspiron 8100 has the same audio chip and a Geforce2Go or Radeon M7, but that machine uses the older i815EP which limits it to 512MB of RAM, while this one can do 1GB. The 8100 is also bulkier at 7 lbs - the Evo n6x0 series is arguably one of the last truly Compaq machines made before the HP accquisition - Thanks Carly Fiorina).

Of course, it's still just a Radeon M6 (no hardware T&L, and ATi is buggy in older DOS stuff), and the Maestro doesn't do FM synth so audio quality in DOS is...kinda questionable. Came with 128MB of RAM, a 20GB HDD, a DVD/CDRW drive and a dead battery (both primary and the ML1220 within). Oh well, some minor work needs to be done, should be able to use most of the configuration from the Dell Latitude C600 that I also have.
