Hi, I need the correct drivers for the Sound Blaster AWE64 ( CT4500 ) in DOS/Win3.1
I currently have it some what working with AWE32 drivers but it only works in Win3.1
I can’t get it to work in DOS.
MIDI files play fine but NOT .WAV and games.
Diagnose utility reports that the card is good and working properly.
Passes all audio test.

Can someone supply me with the correct drivers for DOS and Win3.1 ?
Also is you know the files i need loaded in config.sys and autoexec.bat.
That would be helpful.

Thanks.

Why don't you just install the DOS software for the card? It will do all settings and modifications for you.

You can try these: http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=9 … menustate=43,36

I'm pretty sure they're working properly, I tried them couple of days ago.

But if the diagnose utility reports that the card is working properly, there could be something wrong with the card itself.

Thanks, I really like this AWE64 card for DOS and Win3x
It actually requires a Pentium CPU but will install on 486 with SB16 drivers.
But it sounds much better than a SB16.
The AWE64 plays crisp and clear with no static.
Has good DOS game compatibility too.
Plays MIDI files good too.

The SB Pro 2.0 cards I was using before generated allot of static in DOS games.

I used the “Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold” install disk and the Win 3.1 drivers for DOS.

The "pentium requirement" is for the waveguide stuff for the software synth to kick in. It's never actually required to work the card.
