Those are nice! Now I know what I want next for my Apple setup. 😀

I have a case that is close or 100% similar to that case. The no video issue could be a bad video card, RAM issues, etc.
Help me. I bought another PS2, this time a slim model and a DualShock 2 controller. Going to buy more 8MB memory cards so that I can make FreeMcBoot for the other two and get 2 more for saving games onto the cards.

Excellent choice. It's a great platform with great exclusives. The PC emulator is formidable but limited, and unlikely to be a replacement any time soon. The PS3 emulation was limited to the generally unreilable early models. And while these offer HDMI, I found that with good cables and good connectors I can match it with the PS2 Component. The PS3 does bring an improved controller, but you lose the ability to use GameShark and FreeMcBoot etc.
And the hardware is as cheap & available as it's going to get. Right now it's shovelware, like 486 and pentiums were.

🤣 Maybe it's time to:
Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
The PS2 slim was $20, but since it was Leap Day, it was 75% off (paid $5 + tax).

Got a BFG FX 5950 Ultra a few days ago.
BFG_FX_5950U.jpgThe fans are toast and of course new ones are not available.. plus the stock cooler kinda sucks, so I got this:
A Zalman Z-Machine GV1000 - checked the weight vs the older copper VF1000 and it actually weighs a tiny bit more.
This means it has copper with I am guessing electroplating of some sort... Nickel or Crhome?
Zalman GV1000.jpgPretty sure I will build a Win98SE machine based around this card.
I went ahead and bought a zalman gv1000 for my 5950 ultra also. Looks awesome and works way better than the stock cooler (useless!) and the arctic cooler nv4 rev 2 that I replaced with the zalman. 😎
Picked up one of these little adapters too so I can run the power right off the card.
Oh nice. I hadn't though of that. I may just make myself an adapter cable.
Just got this 1GHz iMac G4, well technically, I did not buy this, rather my father did. He saw it at a garage sale and since I like old computers, he bought it for me.
It's a bit battle-scarred (the transparent "edge" around the display is cracked and has a corner that looks to have been sanded off), and the LCD has a few scratches and pressure marks, but it works, and is dead silent (the hard drive doesn't make a single noise). It came with a fresh install of 10.2.
Unfortunately I don't have the keyboard (either the "Crumb Catcher" white keyboard or the Pro Keyboard that was shipped with the 2001 G3s), but I have a Pro Mouse to go with it at least 😜
Proud owner of a Shuttle HOT-555A 430VX motherboard and two wonderful retro laptops, namely a Compaq Armada 1700 [nonfunctional] and a HP Omnibook XE3-GC [fully working :p]
Bought a lot of COAST modules incl. one with 2 MB. Also a modded FAT PS2. 😀

The slim is a good choice. It's easier to mod & play PS1 backups (no fiddling around with a paperclip or eject tool) and coming with Ethernet as standard is great, particularly if you want to share games from a Windows PC over the LAN with OPL, which is what I do.
A note of warning though (you may already be aware of this) - watch out for the ribbon cable on the laser, if it hasn't been used in some time it may be slightly bulging/raised and this can scratch discs. I had that issue and it had scratched 2 discs by the time I spotted it and flattened it back down. Replacement ribbon cables are cheap and I bought one myself, but haven't actually had to use it though as flattening the cable seemed to do the trick.

Found a couple of these IDE mobile racks, always wanted one of these for my win98 build to fill out empty 5.25 bays, I guess you could plug a CF adapter inside too, but does anyone really have a use for these nowadays? A large storage drive for transfering CD images between builds perhaps.
I use these racks to test old hard drives. Not that I really need old hard drives...
