Nope. Several times I've scoured the internet for any MR-BIOS file I could find. Whatever we have now is all that we could find. In order to get more, we'll probably have to dump the ROMs from existing boards.

Got this mobo as a loan from a friend, will dump the bios and return it - it's using the Macronix 83C305/306 chipset combo with 8kb of integrated cache.

Huh... I just got my hands on a Forex 421 based board, but without BIOS. When Google found this post, my heart jumped a little, but seems that I have no luck...
Anyway, on one computer I have MR BIOS, I think the board is Octek Hippo OP. For sure I will take a look if I could back it up

I remember flashing an MR BIOS on an Intel Advanced/EV ("Endeavour") motherboard as an alternative for the AMI BIOS it originally came with.

I remember downloading it from the MR BIOS website (or was it a BBS?) from a long list of aftermarket BIOS images for many motherboard types. It was an evaluation version and you had to officially pay for them after having tried them out.

I remember being impressed with the improvements. Much faster boot speed and more tweaking options than the stock BIOS.

Of course this was over 20 years ago. I don't remember what I ended up doing with that motherboard after I upgraded that system a few years later. I don't think I have it anymore.

Is this one of the MR BIOSes that's still missing?

That sounds like a Pentium BIOS. I think most of those still exist.
What we really need are 386 and 486 BIOSes.

Hello everyone!

Not sure if you already have these files or not, but I'm posting them here just in case.

Quick story: while looking for a new bios for a computer I have (an old ICL C4/33B 486SX at 33MHz), I found out that the latest bios was uploaded to the old FUJITSU site but i couldn't find it anywhere.
There was a mention of it here:

The actual file name seemed to be b33m214.zip but the link was long dead!

Then I met another dead end. The official BIOS file for that model was definitely here: https://web.archive.org/web/20040414220754/ht … areassist_e.asp but it was long gone (C4D4.EXE).

Anyway, my objective was to be able to use my 4.1GB HDD without having to load Western Digital's EZ-Drive, maybe by updating the board bios (not sure if it would bypass the 504megs limit). I ended up reading something about Mr Bios and found some old version at a friend's FTP site. These files are from version 1.65 and, apparently, the ones that might work with my board are missing... I'm uploading them here as I found them.

UPDATE: this is actually funny but I did a different random google search today and ended up finding a different page for FUJITSU and... SURPRISE! Most old bios and drivers are still in there, I just had to look for older models. Fortunately for me, the Bios I was looking for was still there, just renamed and archived under a similar model (D4, mine is C4...). Sad part is that this new BIOS also doesn't recognize HDDs bigger than 504megs. Back to using EZ-DRIVE!

Wow, great work finding this archive. Unfortunately, I don't have the file you are looking for, but you may have provided the files I was looking for!

I have this VLSI TOPCAT-based motherboard: download/file.php?id=28941&mode=view

I'm running it with the original AMI BIOS. It has EVEN and ODD BIOSes. The board does have integrated IDE, COM, LPT, and SERIAL. 256KB L2 cache is onboard. I'm using it with an 486SXL2. From your the archive listing:

V019B301 VLSI301 386 SX/DX, non-cache
V019B302 VLSI302 386 SX/DX, non-cache, with 82C106 combo chip
V019B312 VLSI312 386 SX/DX, 385 cache, with 82C106 combo chip
V019B401 VLSI401 486

V019B404 VLSI404 486, with 82C106, on-board COM2 inhibited for SCO

I do not see 82C106 on any of the chips on the motherboard. Will any of these BIOSes work?

I'm not seeing EVEN and ODD BIOSes in this list, so does this mean I cannot program the BIOSes in an external programmer? And must use some in-motherboard programming software? If so, anybody know which program and version should work?

This will sound weird but I must say I'm very very very far from being an expert about anything related to computers, especially BIOS or programming. I strongly advise you to ask for advice to the more knowledgeable users around this forums!
I also edited my post and managed to find the bios i was looking for and applied it to my old ICL computer. I'll probably never find a Mr. Bios that works with my particular model, so i guess i'll stick to using EZ-Drive to access my 4.1GB HDD on it.

Somebody needs to award DoutorHouse a VOGONS medal or trophy for important contributions to vintage PC community. This is one of the single greatest finds of the last two decades.

In that archive, there is a manual.zip which contains a manual.165 file, which I am hoping are instructions on how to use their executable files. Anybody know what format that manual.165 might be in? Word 2003 doesn't like it. I might try Word Perfect 6.1 on my 386 system.

LibreOffice can open it, but the layout is a bit off. Tables are shifted etc. I have re-saved it as a Word file and attached it to my post.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it looks like the manual just talks various BIOS settings, not the included executable.

The actual merit should go to my friend who has an ftp filled with old BBS stuff (mostly games). I'm mostly interested in LucasFilm/LucasArts games and finding those files was mere luck.

Some time ago I noticed a bunch of my original diskette images and scans on several other collections and sites and attributed to different people, so i kinda gave up on sharing stuff like that, but when i found myself browsing the files, i thought these would be important to share. Now i just don't care if people think an upload was mine or not and i just share as much files as i can, before important old stuff completely disappears. I'll take a better look at my friend's ftp again and i'll see if there's anything else important in there!

No worries, i'll take a better look later.

Found something called AMISetup (2 different versions and i'm uploading both), maybe it's related to AMIBCP?

I'm posting mr. bios 3.28 too and some other files i found. Like i said, i'm no expert on this stuff, but i'm hoping this is useful! 😀
I'll have a better look during the weekend and post what i find.
