I much prefer DR-DOS to MS-DOS, but I'm quite fond of DOSShell (believe it or not.)

Currently dosshell reports incorrect dos version when I execute it under dr-dos 7.03, and setver doesn't seem to have any effect on that.

Any advice?

Will PC-DOS dosshell work under DR-DOS?

Hi, I'm not sure. There's also an OEM ID that can be retrieved (MSD can display it) aside from version number.
Anyway, there's also DOSVER, a third party utility. I use it on MS-DOS 6.x to report a fake DOS 3.30 version number. This makes Win 2.x run happily. 😀
