I'm looking for a video card for my Compaq Presario Socket 939 system so it can well, run games, but I'm not really familiar with that era of video cards so I don't really know what's good or not. What are some recommendations? I was considering the GeForce 7600, I don't know if that would be a good pick.

7600 was a good cheap card in its day. Played counterstrike and halflife2 on a budget like a champ back in 2006. The 128bit memory bus became a liability once people started moving past 1024x768 gaming.

If your power supply can hack it, you can pick up a 8800 for almost the same price. That seems like a better choice if you have a 1680 or 1920 res monitor.

If you don't have a strong power supply, consider a radeon x800xl.

Yeah, power supply is only like 250 watts, I really should replace it. Unlike Dell it's just a normal ATX power supply.

I'll take a look at the 8800, I can't imagine the 8800GT is too terribly expensive.
