I received a very similar board recently and have been looking forward to testing it out. It is the DTK PEM-4030Y. I'm not sure what the difference is between your board and my board (PEM-0036Y), or why DTK made two versions of a similar board. I'm also curious why my board has an AMI BIOS while yours has a DTK BIOS. Would you be willing to share your BIOS image? One odd bit about my board is that it came with a RTC that I haven't encountered before; it's an STMicroelectronics MK48T87B-24. I haven't checked yet, but hopefully it is pin compatible with the Dallas 12887.

wow they sure look very similar in components and placement in regions... maybe mine is a more compact version
I am also interested in the AMIBIOS your board has - let's swap 🤣

edit:
pinout-wise it seems both MK48T87B and DS12887 are compatible - DS just has more ram in it as far as I can see
it is also used in atari falcon systems and it seems DS12887 is indeed a replacement: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/NVRAM/index.htm
and also battery mod for the ST part: http://atari.fox-1.nl/atari-st-tt-falcon/falc … ry-replacement/

xjas> what venue was the seller using? eBay, craigslist, used.com? I cannot imagine making a listing without having a public price. There certainly is a temporary fad going on about the perceived value of this junk. With any luck, the value will plummet like the stock market just did. If not, I suspect in 10 years, interest and prices will begin to whither once gen X and older millinneals grow out of the obsession.

keropi> Thanks for the BIOS. I'll try to copy mine later tonight. Since the ST is pin compatible, I won't need to battery mod it. I have some modded Dallas chips available.

Wow ! That is very cool !!
I have a DTK PEM3301 w/AMD 386DX/DXL-40 and 64k cache. Has a very similar BIOS though the board is completely different, a very large industrial sized thing. Has a Dallas that I dremeled and soldered an ext batt pack too. The pics are from just after I got the cache working but before I fixed the dallas...

It was on facebook marketplace, which means I now know the not-seller's full name, where he works, roughly where he lives, his approximate age, and the fact that he drives a Chevy truck. 😜 (Or I would know that if I didn't immediately forget all of it.) I guess I shouldn't throw stones from my glass house, but I'm constantly astounded at how inept some people are at basic human interactions... People have every right to ask high & wait until they get what they want for their stuff, but making prospective buyers play a guessing game for the price and then turning on the butthurt when they guess 'wrong' is just brain parasite logic.

I'm sure some 'vintage' computer gear that will keep its value (historically significant systems, iconic game consoles, maybe some really-nicely preserved complete-in-box items, etc.), but random grubby components that were tossed on the floor for a photo aren't what I'm hedging any bets on. I'm sort of looking at this like the boomers with their muscle cars - you have to pay six figures for a nice, complete, desireable car at auction these days, but you can still go to a swap meet and buy a "well, I think it worked when I took it out!" fuel pump for your '68 Fairlane for like $10 (if the sellers can even be bothered to lug them out anymore.)

Anyway, I don't want to pull this thread off topic any further... I'd rather see other people's cool finds in here than complain about some local doofus.

I don't use facebook and didn't know they had their own marketplace. I'm fairly out of touch I guess. My recommendation to help reduce prices is for everyone to collectively stop paying these ridiculous prices. I certainly don't pay them. If the community doesn't cease, be aware that there's a good chance that you'll loose money in 10-20 years, assuming there's even a buyer. I much preferred it when this was considered more of a fun tinkering hobby rather than a greedy high-valued hoarding obsession.

I got a HP oem ASUS P3V133 that got robbed of two of its ISA slots unfortunately... but then again, it was only 1€ (shipping was a bit steep though)

still a nice board, but I was more interested in that thing stuck in the slot anyways ^^

keropi> Here's the BIOS from my board. The silkscreening on the board says that the model is PEM-0030Y, but the large font sticker on the board says it is PEM-4030Y. I'm not sure why there is a dependency here. The chipset model numbers are Symphony 82C362, 82C461, and 82C465. BIOS date is 7/7/91.

A little harsh, no? I'd say the interesting MIDI synth makes up for the poor FM emulation.

The fact that I paid 35€ for it does not mean its only worth 35€ :-p

Apparently, people always think their stuff is worth more than what they have paid for. That's why we have all those crazy ebay prices. But in the end, it's the same as saying: only because something is listed for 100€ doesn't mean it's worth 100€. What statement you prefer mostly depends on whether you are the seller or the buyer...

Knowing that card, I wouldn't have bought it even for 35€.

Interesting card but think if you could get that whole box for 100 it would well be worth it, just the sound card for 35... not so much. Saw the Sapphire AGP and a good scsi card, am sure there could be other good stuff in there. Or did I misunderstand.....

Have been looking for a second Asus P6NP5 board and when they come up most want $100+ or more (and untested). Have debated paying $80 for one tested and with P.Pro-200 that is local. Yes I really want an exact replacement board. Any thoughts?

Hey nice board Horun - it is indeed huge I wonder if it had a matching system to go with!

thanks! will give it a shot since main chips are the same and also layout very similar. The DTK bios is from 29-04-1993 so a couple of years later than your AMI one but that does not say much in my experience ... we'll report back!

I think it came out of this tower bought in 2004, but could be wrong, have one other Full height AT case buried in the stacks of stuff the full height board would fit in.
Most of the systems I got back in early 2000's I tore down if they had board issues but saved the boards, cases and add-ons. Unfortunate that I did not document things better back then other than simple testing notes/dates on sticky paper inside the ESD bags. This board had a cache issue that would halt POST at memory count and never fixed it until last month, after 15 years in storage 🤣. Maybe will assemble it back in the case one of these years ;p

I finally finished creating my abomination by getting myself a model 2 SegaCD. Sadly, my genesis seems to be putting out the wrong colors to the 32X when I am playing a game through it, and the Sega CD BIOS screen seems to have some horizontal corruption problems when the 32x is plugged in and not in use. Do any of you guys know what could be going on? The Genny is a HD Graphics VA3.

This is from the same seller as the Ti500 on the previous page. I'm happy to report that it really looks like NOS. There were three for sale, so do we have a Vogons trifecta on our hands?

As always nice cards Imi! I still have my ELSA Riva 128 with box and cable I bought in the end of the 90s. I played GL-Quake2 with this card. But I realized people with a Voodoo had a better performance. But I was happy with the Elsa. There was also a Software to Decode the Premiere Pay-TV with it 😀

coincidentally I got the same mouse recently ^^, as it says it is a "bus mouse" and needs a interface card

Will I have to use the same brand of mouse? I have the old ATi ISA card with mouse support.
