You'd be surprised at what people try...

What is the exact sequence of commands that you're trying to perform in DOSBox? My guess is that after mounting, you're trying to switch to the C: drive by typing something like:

cd c

instead of just:

c:

or:

cd c:\oldgames

instead of:

c:
cd \oldgames

If you got the error 'directory c doesn't exist' you did *not* type 'mount c c:\oldgames'. Maybe a typo, try again.

hmm weird. The images show that you should be typing the right command.
Could you see if 0.63 got it right ?

hal is suggesting that perhaps you are using the | (pipe) character instead of the : (colon) character.

Perhaps you could provide a screenshot of the error in DOSBox so we can see the actual command and error message?

arrrrgghh!!
thats possibly the mistake - my (german) keyboard seems not to be able to create a true colon!
only what you call 'pipe'...

yeah in the screenshot it is obvious that when you tried to mount oldgames the : was different to what you "commanded" for mounting c:\windows.
Sorry if my earlier suggestion seemed a bit offensive, but people do try strange things and I've dealt with a couple of those in tech support 😀
