Hi,

i have Problems installing Win95 or 98 in latest DOSBOX SVN.

I have read this both Guide form here:
(Guide) How to Install Win98se with 3dfx driver in Dosbox
Windows 9x DOSBox Guide (Not officially supported)

My Modifications in dosbox.conf
memsize=128

core=full
cputype=pentium

mididevice=mt32
midiconfig=1

That´s it.

I start setup with /is

The Installations stops on Win98 and Win95 at the Plug&Play Components Configuration with Error "Rundll32" (See Attached Picture).

Anyone can help me ?

Set memsize to 63 (or is it 65?)
In SVN you can't go higher.
Use Dosbox-x. Main Dosbox is really not useable for Win9x

I tried it with latest Dosbox-X, the install freezes also at Plug&Play Components Configuration, but without an Error Message.

Now i´ve downloaded Win98 First Version in English and give it a try.

That´s only for testing, I have the original German Win98 Version at home.

English Version don´t work... so i´ve deleted it.

I got a Problem with identify Plug&Play Bios at Windows installation with Dosbox-X, there it freezes.

Running Windows Setup in Verbose Mode /p g=3

Running Win9x does not work with the default core=dynamic. Change it to core=normal or core=full.

You might also want to post in the DOSBox-X forum. You might find more people there that have set up Win9x in it since official DOSBox does not support it.
