Hello
Has this SMD capacitor leaked ?
It's bottom is surrounded with weird white residue like toothpaste ?
Has this happened in a factory or after it left factory ?

These capacitors don't have anything that can leak out of them. Could be some flux residue or some foreign dirt that has deposited itself on the card over time.

Limestone. The pcb was most likely washed in hard water and not properly dried.

It's a ceramic cap. They fail mechanically, not by chemistry.

Spider poop ? 🤣 Have seen some odd stuff around a component or two that could never figure out what it was. Could be hard water residue but if only on one part then bug, mouse or other abnormal thing is probably the cause.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
