Micronics 80486 ASIC EISA 50MHz and a CT2290 SB16. The motherboard is slightly less pristine than promised, the battery has clearly been removed - and not a moment too soon, there's nasty green residue on the nearest two components, though in such small volumes I'm not hugely concerned:

Hope to get round to firing this beast up tomorrow. And the CT2290 - well, probably the nicest SB16 - non-PnP, real OPL3, low self-noise and as few MIDI bugs as you're going to find on a SB16. It's a freebie from a friend I recently gave a dual Opteron server board. Do ut des 😉

This one is completely new and unused - an Acer Accufeel 6316 6312TW-4U with Acer Black switches - basically what you get if you put the top parts of an Alps clicky switch over a rubber membrane (similar idea to the IBM Model M, but far lighter). Looking forward to typing with this for a while, if only because it's ISO and I far prefer that to ANSI (or big-ass enter monstrosities).

I hope you will give us better pictures of the 486 mainboard, I can't see any details, and so cannot compare to my board 😁

I got a couple Pentium MMX 75mhz CPU’s for my Ultimate DOS gaming computer test build.
I found the 486dx4-100 too slow for NEWER DOS games so I am experimenting with the Pentium CPU now.
I want to find the sweet spot between the CPU speeds of the 286-10mhz thru Pentium class CPU.
Using just ONE Pentium CPU.
I want to try
Pentium-75
Pentium-100
Pentium-120
Pentium-150
Pentium-175
Pentium-200
Pentium-233

Pentium 175, too. Doesn't exist.

Keep 75, it will might go to 90 and 100. For 133 thru 200 you need a unlocked Pentium 200.

Or get a Pentium 90, which will do 75 MHz (25 x 3), 90 MHz (30 x 3), and 100 MHz (33 x 3) with no issues. Running a P75 at 100 MHz is quite a stretch and most likely not reliable.

Save yourself some trouble and get a MMX200 or MMX233 then play with Setmul and caches to get to the speed you need.

There was no Pentium 233, only Pentium MMX (different CPU )

Basically you can do either 75-200MHz (assuming no FSB overclocking) on a P54C P200 (if unlocked, I believe most are), or you can do 133MHz-233MHz (assuming sticking to 66MHz FSB) with a P55C P233MMX (if unlocked - some are). Difference is the multiplier mapping: 1.5x on the P54C is interpreted as 3.5x on the P55C.

No, let me re-phrase this. I want to use one CPU. I just want to be able to down clock it to 268@10mhz speed.
I want the power of the Pentium.
It's like "Torque" on a car verses acceleration.
I want the pulling power of the Pentium but I don't really need to go to fast for DOS games.
The 486 just can't process data fast enough.
So I am hoping the Pentium 75mhz will be fast enough.

No, he is only looking for attention, to provoke and to disturb normal operation as it is in the nature of a troll. I wonder how long it takes until the last user realizes that ignoring is key to success here.

Telltale signs:
- responds randomly but content isn't a reaction to previous posts (completely ignoring what other people write)
- asks for the simplest things (obviously unwilling to use Google even once)
- spreading of captain obvious information that everyone already knows, presenting it as a recent breakthrough discovery

I agree this should probably be discussed in another thread, but you can't downclock a P75 to 286-10mhz speeds, short of maybe some elaborate oscillator swap procedures...
