My Amiga600 is upgraded, because I get a few features extra this way. (CPU and Memory wise). Nearly all my Amiga's have a scandoubler, because I want to use LCD monitors. They are actually not that upgraded, compared to something like a Vampire accelerator. That thing is a monster. I am however playing with WHD-Loader on my Amiga600, just for the kick's of messing around with it. I like diskette's, and I have like 400/450 of those in disk boxes with Amiga software on them. And I will keep using them, untill they are all dead. Then I will get Gotek drives for them all. I have other Amiga's, and if you like really special machines, then look for my "Amiga500 in Desktop Case" on the blog. It is not fast, yet the goal for that, was to build something with the muscles/speed of a stock 500. Yet with features and in a desktop case. 😀

Sweet.... Just avoid upgrading an Revision 1.3 motherboard. It is not worth it. As far as I understand, by looking around. Is that the 1.3 board is the biggest PITA to work with. Many upgrades does simply not work and a lot of upgrades make the machine buggy and unstable. The 1.5 is better, however it can have minor incompatibility issues. Like on my 1.5 Amiga600, I have not been able to run other burned kickstarts than the 3.1.4 that I bought. And it was not stable enough. The Cloanto branded 2.05 rom that I bought, did not work at all and the Cloanto branded 1.3/3.1-two-in-one rom, did not work eighter. In my 1.5 Amiga600, the only kickstart rom chips that work reliable, are the original ones, made by Commodore. And then again, some revision 1.5 boards work perfect with these thing's. It is a hit-n-miss game with the Amiga600.

Are you thinking about doing a desktop version of one of your Amiga600's? As there are these PlexiGlass cases already made for Amiga600. It is a desktop-kind-of case.

I am thinking about getting one of them cases, and then convert my original 600-case, into a RPI machine. Using non-destructive 3D-Printed brackets and a KeyRah keyboard controller. It is just cooling that I am a bit worried about.

No I'm not going to convert a A600 to a desktop case. It's just not worth it imho and I quite like the original form factor. My priority systems are Acorn Risc systems and pre '98 x86 (socket 7 and super socket 7 mainly) systems. Far easier to upgrade at a reasonable cost. I have plenty of spares for both these type of systems. Software is also readily available for them at almost no cost. For example I've just done a Net install of Duvian Jessie on a K6-2 266 test rig with usb 2.0

I used all day, yesterday. Searching for information on issues. Most blogposts around, agree that it is the 1.3 that are causing most issues. As an example, then the 1.3 will not run with an Apollo-030, unless you do some tricks. http://www.amiga600.de/whatneed.htm Also, it is mentioned here. http://wiki.classicamiga.com/A600_Upgrade_Options And I can read on the last link that I post, that Rev 1.5 to 2, works fine with that accelerator, and working fine with other ones as well. Seems like the issue is not 100% to the board revision eighter, as there are issues with Gale Revision 1. Perhaps those that have a rev 1.3 Amiga600 motherboard, and issues, have Gayle 1.0 and those were it works have Gayle 2.0? Uhhh... Yup.... I have had my fair share of issues with Burned rom's on my Rev 1.5 and I can fully live with Kickstart 2.05 (37.350). As anything above, seems a bit off and odd to me. The 600 is for me, strongly tied with kickstart 2.x as that was what I saw and that was how the 600 was used back when I was a teenager in 1992. Back then, one would dream about unobtainable 030-Amiga's with tons of Ram.

Received a UNOCart today for my Atari 2600 -

So I've been setting up an SD Card and playing a few classic games. The UNOCart is a bit of a pain due to the 80 files per folder limit, but otherwise is working great.

Been playing a bit of Pitfall, Pitfall II, Frogger & Donkey Kong so far.

Also received another game for my recently acquired SNES - Stunt Race FX and had a quick play with that earlier.

Rehoused my Penitum 233 MMX machine in this nice desktop case. 3 digit MHZ readout which is a real nice bonus. The Machine does has functioning turbo so display switches from 233 to 175

I just spent over an hour dismantling an older laptop with what felt like a thousand screws, litterally had to take apart every little thing and unplug every connector to actually get to the CPU... only to realize that merom != merom... the 7200 is a socket M cpu and I need a socket P cpu ._____.

I felt the same way when I had to get into my P75 Toshiba Satellite - as well my Armada 1750 and 4/25 LTE are at least a 30 minute job to take apart everything before you get access to what you need.

Today I finished cleaning and setting up my retro PC "laboratory" (totally NOT a computer parts storage room as well) and I think it came out pretty good.

The only downside is that Windows XP decided to let me down for no reason at the exact moment I was taking this photo. I tried to take another photo, but it wouldn't boot anymore.

I have noticed this banding in certain resolutions with this vga card. The issue remains on the 3 systems I have tested it on.

Has anyone seen this before?

Ahhh... Spaghetti lines... The monitor inerpret the signal incorrectly and tries to compensate.
What you need, is eighter a CRT monitor or a GFX card with a better output.
These lines tends to show up, mostly on ISA and VLB vcards, however I have seen it with PCI as well.

I do have a CRT but this pc is merely an occasional interest so my "main" rig uses that 😀
