Try Wing Commander 1 on the 486. Or 2001 games on your p3.

It's not the CPU alone, it's ALWAYS the combination of the components.
Though the CPU choice is a BIG point on this...

Yes, and your opinion about my “problem”?? I see that you have a system similar to my IBM...

2001's a piece of cake for my P3. I built mine to handle games from 2000-2005. 😜

Though Wc1 is VERY difficult, therefore I play the Win95 Version of it. (Kilrathi Saga)

Wing commander 1 is perfect speed when I disable L1 cache on my 486 33Mhz while keeping turbo and L2 cache on. It is also perfect system for ultima 7.
I think most 2001 games would run just fine on my P3. At least I have not come across any win9x games that I would have problems with. It is also perfect for dos games that need faster system than my 486 and glide games.

Choosing one of two my system considering PRO and CONS as i said
I did LOT's of testing and there is NO All-In-One that does it all...that's my resume...
therefore I use lot's of different systems...

If I would have to choose, I make it very simple.
Put another PC-Board in your A4000 for 2D Dos/Win3x gaming und use the 300GL for early 3D. Put a Voodoo1 in it.

My idea to all in one is that: using sbc make simple to swap from sbc with with K6-3 to another one with 486 SX25, even a Tualatin or P4 sbc is easy to find. The real problem that i see is that i am limited in a onboard graphic chip. If i need more graphic power i need to put out the sbc from the A400 and intall it in a backplain with only PCI alernative for graphic card. I already have an ATI 9250 PCI.
