Just curious, why does lot of OEMs back in the day skip the regular motherboards and use all in one motheboards with limited slot risers, even the ones with 5 slot riser is roomy enough to have a 7 or 8 slot chassis would use standard board or semi standard motherboard instead?
Because serial, ltp, mouse, keyboard even in some cases sound were incorporated in the mobo including stuff like vlb hdd and video support hardware. No need for extra expansion slots at all.
