I'm aware of the Audigy 2 Driver hack, but does the hack work for the ZS, or is it only for Audigy 2 and 1?

I've tried to get the 2 ZS to work in DOS, but I believe the driver program does not detect it.

Audigy1 doesn't need it, ZS is irrelevant, just better analog circuitry.

It works fine on the ZS, both under the Win98 DOS prompt as well as in pure DOS 7.1 (using the "Restart in MS-DOS mode" option from Win98).

Here's what I did to set things up. I might write up a proper step-by-step guide when I have more time since a lot of people seem to be asking about this.
