So I know Dell has their crippled live with the rectangular chip of which I own one, and then their is the PCI 512 with an emu10k1 chip on it but it's worse than the live value. So which crippled live is actually better.

If you want hardware acceleration, then the PCI 512.

The fake live with the rectangular chip.. I don't even know what to say about that. I probably have one but would not use it.

Well, from what I've read, the limitations on the PCI 512 are software-imposed and they only affected MIDI polyphony anyway. It still uses a full EMU10K chip, so it's definitely better than the SB0200. I don't have either, so I can't test them first-hand.

I do have an SB0220 with the full functionality and I wasn't too pleased with it. Maybe it was because I couldn't find VXD drivers for it and by the time I figured out they were on the driver CD all along (D'oh!), I already had been given a crapload of SB Lives and 2 Audigy 2 ZS cards.

Not all Dell Live! cards are crippled. I have a CT4750 from Dell that is fully functional, for example.

He was referring to the infamous SB0200, which is in fact a crappy, crippled product. I happen to have a Dell SB0220 which isn't crippled either.

yea ive got an SB0200 and SB0220, the 0200 is still being passed over for other cards, its down to Soundblaster 16 PCI and SB0200 at this point

I would still go for an AudioPCI over an SB0200
