That was referring to replacing the entire mouse vs. replacing just the faulty switch. Buying the switches on their own seems more expensive than just finding some recycled mice to salvage from.
but then you get old worn out switches again, kinda defeats the purpose of swapping them in the first place x3

optical scrolls should last forever i guess, there are even some optical scrolls with a separate item for feeling the click
i haven't seen any mice with optical buttons.
main right and left buttons creates a leaver so they are easier to be pressed than side and scroll button.
haven't seen a leaver for a scroll button but i guess it would be worth to have a mice with such a design to save your finger joints.

Logitech M535. On stupid machines with only two usb ports, a bluetooth mouse is a godsend.
Plus it's cute and fits the hand quite nicely. It's not a stupid lump of ugly blackness that weights a ton and hurts to move around thanks to sharp edges like a "gamer" mouse.
I hate every "gamer" stuff. It means "we borked the design. It's also ugly as sin. And overpriced."

Ducky Secret has no lever on left/right buttons so they will be harder to press.
oh, and notice the position of side buttons micro switches 😉 looks like reversed lever so you need extra force to press them 😉

The best mouse is one that doesn't have buttons in the sides. That shit is heinous
when I got my intellimouse explorer in 2001, my life was changed, never did I want to go back to a mouse that does not have AT LEAST forward and back buttons on the side :p

This will not be popular but I was a huge fan of my Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000
It has been the target of hate by many people I know who tried it but for me it was incredibly precise and comfortable.

I agree. I don't like them on principle (wow you put a battery - which is going to have to be replaced eventually -, went through the hassle of using bluetooth, gave us a lot of work to pair it each time with a new computer instead of JUST PLUGGING IT IN, forsake backward compatibility with old computers or computers without bluetooth, just so you could say "Look ma, NO CABLE!". Is this industry stupid beyond belief or what ?), but in some cases they are useful.
My favorite retro mouse is a Wyse PS/2 optical scroll mouse I found at a thrift store for a dollar. You can still buy these NOS pretty inexpensively because I think they were OEM for Dell. They're not the highest quality, but they're good enough for a spare 30 minutes here and there mucking around Windows 98.
It's far more common for a wireless mouse to use a proprietary USB dongle rather than bluetooth...
I have one of those too. That's even more stupid. If I have to use an USB port anyway, what's the point ?
