Not today, this week. I bought a full case with a K6-2 533, ASUS P5A and 384 Mb, but I found out that indeed it had three RAM modules; 512Mb (seen as 256Mb), 128Mb and another 64Mb that was loose. I have left the 128Mb modules, max cacheable RAM.
The rest of the PC is not interesting, a Sound Blaster 128 PCI (ES137o) , a Rage XL and an old 4Gb Samsung HDD and 52X CD drive. PC Case is quite OK though but needs some cleaning.

I wanted a K6-2 as I accidentally burnt the one I had some years ago. I paid 30 euros, including shipping. I have promised not to spend money on old stuff as I already have a lot but .... 😀

This will go with a Geforce 2 MX, a SB Live 5.1 and a Sound Blaster 16.

Yes, well I don't really disclose my sources. I can only say look for this stuff in western Poland as most is brought from Germany (they are paid to get this stuff there and they bring it for recycling in Poland I guess).

Nice catch! If they were rationally priced over here I'd get myself some too... But €50+ incl shipping is a but to much.

It actually performs very good.

I bought a used ASUS XP55T2P4 Rev.3.x mainboard with 256KB cache onboard and an empty slot for a COAST module. In the package was a, apparently NOS, ASUS P55T2P4 Rev.3.10 mainboard with 512KB cache onboard. I’m trying to contact the seller to sort it out, now.

Once you start buying Gotek floppy emulators … you keep reordering them. The first thing I always do is a firmware upgrade, an OLED mod and an active buzzer mod. Although it’s not quite the same sound, it still is satisfying somehow. Usually I put them into the computer as drive A: and a real one as drive B:, but it never really looks quite right. Someday I’m going to design a different case for these resembling a real floppy drive and print them.

I also bought 128MB of EDO DRAM as well as a rather expensive ASUS Rev 3.0 COAST for the “wrongly delivered” mainboard (I hope to receive the one I ordered).

Not only a very nice item, it also looks like it is in perfect condition, too. Still miss mine 🙁

Bought this desktop, mainly for the case... nothing really interesting inside: ACORP 5TX52 ver. 1.4 mainboard, Pentium MMX 200 black, some SDRAM stick, a first gen Matrox Mystique, a triangular shaped sound card with ESS Audiodrive ES1868F sound chip and some Quantum HDD. Still need to test it... To bad it doesn't have a MHz display... but for 20 euro it's a fair price.

Also bought these optical drives for about 25 euros:
- MITSUMI CRMC-FX400E from december 1995
- Matsushita/Panasonic CW-7502-B SCSI 4x CD burner + PCI SCSI adapter card(the seller said, it's ISA 🙁) from september 1997

That right one seems to have been rather common with OEMs, I've had multiple machines with it (specifically very late 486/early Pentium stuff). Have yet to have one fail on me, which is more than can be said for the awful Apple CD-ROM drives from the mid-90s.

Why do you need to sort something out? I guess you are after the 512MB cachable area. If that is the case, the board you posted is just fine. It has the low tag bits in the small Winbond chip that is soldered to the board, and you have a socket to add a 16Kx8 or 32Kx8 chip (only 16Kx3 is actually used) to upgrade to the full cachable area. With the extra tag RAM and 512KB cache onboard, the 430HX is maxed out, so I don't see any need to get a different board for better performance.

The COAST slot is supposed to be above where the CPU socket is on the board.... The COAST slot is missing and the tag chip for the COAST slot is also missing.

because the XP55T2P4 is an ATX and the P55T2P4 a baby-AT board :p quite a difference.

two Morse KP800 cards, CL-GD510/520 32 and 40Mhz, one definitely in better shape than the other

and another ISA SBC, the edge contacts are heavily corroded for some reason (came from the same lot as the worse condition KP800 above), also some damage to the IDE but I hope it'll still work.

Do you know if it works on IDE or it needs proprietary connector? Maybe a sound card with Panasonic/Matsushita connector?

I finally find an exact case like the one I had back in the 90s in my first PC! It's missing few details (ie. 3,5" bay bracket) but nevermind...

I have all the parts now to make almost exact replica of my first PC!

It also came with this intersting 386SX 40Mhz motherboard with MR BIOS. PSU in this PC was shot, so I wonder if the motherboard still works... I will test it this weekend.
