Hi,
My Notebook has no serial com-port so i use an usb-serial adapter.
Now i've to use an old dos application with this serial interface.
Is there any change to use the usb-serial adapter with DosBox?

Chances are not small (but neither 100%). Just try it.

I'd tried it, but it didn't work.
That's why i'm asking here.
Does it work with a real serial port?
no -> won't work with USB either
yes-> *might* work with a different brand of USB adaptor

I've no reale usb-port. 🙁
So i can't try it.
As you say it normally it has to work in DosBox? Is there something particular to do?
Did you set the serial1=directserial realport:comx
(where x is the com port your adaptor registers at)
in dosbox.conf?
yep. But it doesn't work. 😦
Somebody told me that the application i try needs to run under real Dos. 😢
Maybe that's why it'll not work.
But in real Dos there's AFAIK no change to run the USB-Serial adapter. 🙁
But in real dos you will need a real driver that support usd-serial adapter.
I think that is more difficult to find.
Have you tryed another application that uses the serial port, just in case to verify the usb-serial adapter is working ?
