I'm about to install DOSBox 0.65. Currently I'm using 0.63, which resides in C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.63\
Am I supposed to uninstall this version prior to installing the new one (which, in turn, wants to go to C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.65 by default)? Is there a special reason why C:\Program Files\DOSBox (or C:\dosbox) is not used by default (so I suppose the upgrades would go over the previous version)?

It cannot be completely excluded that some games run with 0.63, but
don't run with 0.65, so by times it's worth to use an older version.
Uninstalling is not necessary therefore as the installation directories
are different as you mentioned.

Just be sure to not mix up the different dosbox.conf files (each installation
has its own in the appropriate directory), as they are NOT compatible.
Saves headaches by times if keeping that in mind.
