Hey guys, I have an intel motherboard running a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio Chipset, set to IRQ 17 in its hardware settings. Running Windows XP Pro w/SP2 fully updated, and DosBox v0.65. Currently I run my audio outputs through my Yamaha Receiver to surround sound setup in the room.

Im trying to play Pirates! Gold with this setup and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get any audio to work with DosBox -- if any of you can help out it would be GREATLY appreciated

You have to set up sound first for the game. DOSBox emulates different types of sound hardware. If you are not sure you can select General Midi for music and SB16 for effects or just SB16 for everything. Look in the configuration file for DOSBox to see what sound hardware is emulated.

Thanks, noobish mistake on my part -- didnt run installer.exe and setup my hardware 🤣, thanks a ton
