I have an old program (framework IV) that I have successfully got to run in windows xp.

However, It requires me to open dosbox, then type the commands to open the program (like the mount folder, then the commands to open the folder).

I am looking for a way to have a single icon on my desktop to click and have the program open. This would save me much time every day.

Any help would be much appreciated 😊

Check the readme... there is an [autoexec] section at the end of dosbox.conf. Use that, combined with the -conf switch.

There's a few of ways of doing it.
In all cases, make a shortcut to dosbox.exe and then bring up the shortcut properties.

1. Add <path to program.exe> on the end of the shortcut target (dosbox will automatically mount the folder as C: and run the program)

2. Make a copy of dosbox.conf and edit the [autoexec] section in the new config file. Add -conf <config file> on to the end of the shortcut target. (this way is probably best cos you can also customise the config options for that particular program)

3. Add the commands you want dosbox to execute onto the end of the shortcut target with -c "command1" -c "command 2" etc. (commands must be in quotes)
