I really have to get myself a real hardware Amiga someday. I feel like I'm missing out .

Bought a replacement keyboard for my Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 as 2 of the many keys are dead and won't work at all, even after cleaning the contact points (took the rubber domes off and they had no contact points left on it) and an Intel Wireless 3945ABG Mini PCIe card so that I can connect to the 5GHz network on the laptop.

Today I ordered this baby.
First thing I'll do when it arrives tomorrow is 'hack' it to 100MHz. 😀

That looks like a nice scope. Any fun projects your going to use it on?

I need to get me one of those sometime in case I run into harder repairs... unfortunately I've never used one before... are there a lot of cases where you need a 4ch instead of 2ch scope?

No particular projects at hand at the moment but I want to learn how to properly use one.
I recently sold an old analog scope (Instek 6200, dual channel 200mhz scope, which I got for free and came from a bankrupt motherboard manufacturer repair center (Epox) and wanted to get a more modern and not so bulky one.
I will probably use it for repairs and troubleshooting and just to find out how things work.

Still, I think my first use will be lissajous 😀

I’m not sure but it seemed right to get one with four channels “just in case”.
Nice about this model is that it can decode serial/i2c signals too.
And that it can be upgraded to a true 100MHz scope. That is, with one channel, when using all four, it’ll be 25MHz per channel.

just thinking... I'd have the chance to buy a 200Mhz 2ch scope locally, do I need 200Mhz or 4channels more in retro computer repairs? ^^

Vampire V4 is not a real hardware Amiga.

It's definitely hardware, Amiga compatible and likely uses a licensed Amiga ROM. Whether that makes it a "real hardware Amiga" or not is a matter of perspective, IMHO .
It's definitely not a vintage Commodore Amiga product, no arguments on that .

No need to go down that rabbit hole, there are two camps of thought about this and I doubt we'd see eye to eye.

It's not a real amiga in that it's not made by commodore, but it natively runs Amiga OS as old as 1.2 I think though I don't think you'd want to go beyond 3.0 for convienience sake. It's core is also completely compatible with every 68xxx insturction. It has obviously newer better hardware than any commodore manufactured amiga does but it would be considerably less exciting if it was just desined to be a 25 year old amiga replacement.

I don't care if it's a real amiga or not, i think its great hardware to tinker with and i'm excited to see what the amiga community does with it.

I also own an A1200 with 030 & 060 accelerators, and an Amiga 2500.

I bought 2 IDE/Sata Adapters. Works the same on ATA33 (22MB/s Read and 32MB/s Write) but I just tested on another ATA100 Mobo and Startech is slightly faster :
