Wow, that's a beautiful build.

What games do you tried?

thank you 😀

generally anything from 97/98-01/02

quake 3
return to castle wolftenstein

kiss - psycho circus - the nightmare child (runs fine but need to restart pc after exiting game as there's a bug with directx with playing anything else afterwards or with dxdiag and it didn't matter what gpu or directx version i used) (doesn't do it in win xp - must be win98 bug)

empire earth 1
solder of fortune 1
GTA 3
Blair Witch Trilogy

prob loads more but go to ones are normally quake 3, return to castle wolfenstein and mafia 1 (which runs fines on low to med settings (800x600) - i run it on my xp build to max out (1024x768))

this might tell you this different with cpu - i think

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/125/In ... 7256).html

i have no idea, with win98

this cpu is high on 98 and good enough on very early xp (pre sp1 - maybe sp2) and would be low/slow on sp3 xp

i choose it so i don't need to replace the psu so often as it run on 12v rail instead of the 5v rail and also the Willamette p4, were nae as good (compare to p3 of the day) and also i could use a stock intel cooler from a higher clocked cpu with no issues 😁

socket 478 cooler mounting bracket gives me nightmares. Have you thought about replacing it with new cooler as well? Best Byte seems to have ones made of steel.

the cooler is originally from a p4 2.8ghz with hyperthreading (got a bit too warm and a tad hot while heavy gaming) and thought that since this p4 is more or less half that speed with no hyperthreading that it should work and it does and doesn't actually get that warm or hot

I'd be interesting to see the differences in gaming performance. Looks like another project for my "bucket list".

Nice CRT by the way, I can never find any in good shape locally......yet.
