I'm trying to install win95.. but, the bios doesn't allow booting from the CD.. the information on the vogonswiki is real.. no cd boot allowed.. but they said it's possible with third party tools

So, what 3rd part tool is nedded or how i can go around this limitation ? install DOS and them upgrade to win95 ?

Thank you

boot the computer with a windows 98 startup/bootdisk. change drive to letter to whatever it assigned your CD and type setup. go look on google for a 98 bootdisk floppy img.

Oh the joys of having to create a bootdisk with cdrom driver and mscdex to be able to reach the CD. Yep, that is the way to go I am afraid. Old-style tinkering. At least most of the hardware is plug-n-play already, no need to set jumpers other than master/slave on your IDE devices (harddisk/CDrom).

Make sure you put the connector with the marked side of the cable on pin 1 in everywhere, otherwise the system won't boot.

Win95 didn't come on a bootable CD anyway.
