I want to max out the memory on my PVI-486SP3. I have established that I need 2 x 64 MB modules, and https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/A/A … PVI-486SP3.html tells me i need parity ram. Will this board work with non parity ram? Also, I know it works with fpm, but will it accept the faster edo? Looking to get the best performance in Win95c for the best price possible, prior to test my 486 collection.

Yes, you should be able to use non-parity RAM.

Regarding the memory type, the chipset on that board (SIS496) does have EDO support, but I don't know if that particular board is known to work properly with EDO modules. In any case I don't think it makes a noticeable performance difference in a 486.

Thanks. That does make my life easier, and so far it looks like 2 x 64mb or 32mb fpm non parity is cheapest.
