I also had a TV card back when in my HTPC, I used it to record analog cable TV, mostly documentaries and stuff to watch later.

Arrived today. Poorly packed but its an absolute unit and is not damaged besides the front panel screw mounts needing to be glued back on.. Looked that way already from sellers pic.

It also is working perfectly after I noticed the rear part of the VLB card was not pushed in at all.

Everything bar the case/psu looks brand new. Not a spec of dust on anything.

£30 well spent 😀

Wait, Intel was still messing around with that no-external-graphics-on-cheap*-boards nonsense by the time Sandy Bridge was out? I wouldn't be surprised if, all things considered, having to make and stock the full-featured boards and all of its crippled in various fun ways variants ended up costing them more than just making only the full board.

Also I can't help but wonder if it only has 2 SATA ports in an attempt to recycle those dodgy B2 chipsets.

*especially since Intel's idea of cheap isn't actually that cheap. An AMD APU would have probably made a better all-around system for the same or less cash.

I've got a Thinkpad A22m without any damages to its frame and I'm so happy about that!
It's simply amazing. Most of the old A series Thinkpads have shattered frames because IBM used low-quality grease for the display hinges - so they get stiff and when you open up the notebook, the hinges break out of the frame and your shiny new retro notebook is just crumbling apart.

The hinges on my model are very stiff, but it still magically survived. The machine probably wasn't used at all for at least a decade.
I "just" need to disassemble them, get rid of the dried up grease and put new grease in there - I ordered some MoS2 because it's supposedly good for that. Let's see if it really is.

My local honey pots for old hardware seem to have run dry. I did happen to find a Sony CDU4821 CDRom drive the other day. I did manage to get lucky last month during a Covid delayed spring cleaning day. Neighbor put out quite a few old HP Pavilions and a nice desktop 386DX with AT Keyboard and a couple monitors to boot. Pun intended. A few pics. Note I filled in some empty slots when I was getting them running.

Went to Sanilac County today and got this sealed Gravis Blackhawk joystick for $3:

New old stock Zalman GPU coolers. Those were the days. 20 euros together incl. shipping

i'm a sucker for these. can't help myself.
if i could just stop buying cases, i would probably stop building new machines.

These were included in the lot I bought a week ago Saturday. I have no motherboards to test any of them, so I'll just stash them away until I hopefully do. 266 Celeron, two Slot One P3s (400/512 and 600/512 ) a Pentium Pro, and an 800 Slot A.

Not arcade for these particular cards... These are Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24s with the optional fan which is super rare. But yes, 3DFX 12MB Voodoo2 SLI on a single PCI card.
