Hehe, the first video brings back memories. I installed a S3 Virge DX (?) 4MB in my Pentium 200MHz MMX back in 1997.
Moto Racer worked for about 20 seconds into the race (at 10 fps), and then the computer froze. I tried for several days to get it working, and then I bought a Voodoo instead...
Another epizode out - this time about 3Dlabs Permedia....

Ostrava detected 😉
The fun comparison of the PCX2 vs the Neon250 at 30:10 shows off PowerVR fixed their alpha precision mistakes and their texture filtering is still just as blocky.
Another episode out, this time about Cirrus Logic Laguna3D - https://youtu.be/DegsPvN4JSI

Should say bad 3D cards. The S3 ViRGE is possibly the best all-round DOS 2D card ever made.
It is one of the best series on YouTube, I don't know how you don't have more subs! 😀
I like how you go in detail about drivers, games, benchmarks, comparison... Ect.
Please keep it up!
Guys, have some bad news. Sadly person who did for me english correction and provided his great voice have no time for it anymore. Just finished beta version of new episode, but have noone to do voiceover. And my english is really horrible.
So if theres someone able and viling to help me, i will be happy.
What i need (perfect will be some native english person)
1)correction of my english script, can be also changed by your observation of beta video i will send you. Script can be modified as you wish, its not strict set.
2)doing voice over recorded to many mp3 files and sending them to me through email, or ftp.
What you will get
1)nothing 😀 i don't meet requirements of youtube to have monetized videos
2)will thank you under videos and can share there links to your projects/sites (but not much viewers there, only few thousands)
3)good feeling that you helped preserve early 3d gaming history....

Sorry to see the voice go. I've only a couple days ago binged through all your graphics cards videos and it even made me dig out some of my own cards! 😁
And sorry but I probably won't be of much help to you regarding the voice. I don't even have the right equipment nor the time atm for a project like this (and literally zero experience).
Keep up the good work! 😁
Replacement voiceover guy found, so heres new episode about worst 3D gaming card ever released - Alliance aT3D - https://youtu.be/vCz-rSlSREA

Rendition, is that considered bad?

I would argue Rendition cards are amazing if not for the horrible Mode X performance. 🙁
Check out DOSBox Distro:
https://sites.google.com/site/dosboxdistro/ [*]
a lightweight Linux distro (tinycore) which boots off a usb flash drive and goes straight to DOSBox.
Make your dos retrogaming experience portable!
I had to subscribe and click the bell because of this thread. Hoping to binge some videos this weekend. Love this kind on content. Thanks!

I think that they were considered as mainstream at that time. Not highend numbers, but without image quality issues of many competitors. Not sure about it, but i think that some people even considered verite 1000 as 1st usable 3D card before voodoo came out.
But they had issues with speed in DOS modes. They released even some patch utility for that. If i got somehow Verite 1000 into my hands, it probably will end in another video list named Rare Graphics cards, because i guess it wont belong into worst gaming cards....But they are quite rare here in cetral europe. Got only Verite 2100/2200 and these are quite good for its time of release.

Maybe review infamous 3dfx failure - Voodoo Rush?
I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Not really. Voodoo Rush was perfect card compared to most others at that time. Yeah it had compatibility issues with early glide patches, but its been solved.
You can check this one, doesn't seem to be broken like all S3 cards of that time for example.... https://youtu.be/-BClYLu45D8

Matrox G100? Should be different enough from Matrox Mystique, but still bad in its own way.
On rare side of things, original Savage 3D would probably be quite interesting.
