Back in my days I was using ATI Radeon 9800 and ATI X1900. But I can hardly remember what drivers I used. Now after years of NVIDIA I'm back to ATI, old ATI, on my ancient laptops like Compaq N600C, or Fujitsu with X1800 and MacBook Pro 15 with X1600. I read that something called Omegadrivers was a thing back then, a modded drivers that worked better than official. Today its web page is dead but maybe i can get these drivers? Was they really good?

Way back I had a Mobility Radeon 9600 in a notebook and used the Driver Heaven Mobility Mod Tool. It modifies the official Catalyst drivers to install on Mobility Radeon chips.

For the N600c I tested and used the following back in mainly 2007:
9x: rad_w9x_omega_2637.exe
NT4: Use ATI drivers 01/29/2004, 4.00.03.4500
2000-7: rad_w2kxp_omega_2576
or ATI drivers 04/12/2006,8.241, according to zip based on Cat 6.4

Here is the last ATI omega driver for win 98/me. I used to to install the 7500M on a thinkpad t42. They are based on the last official 9x drivers anyways.

This here is a more Vanilla Driver from think pad forums it should work.

Took some time to test these omega drivers on my Compaq N600c.

They work, and I even get better score. 1740 instead of 1690 on stock one.

But control panel doesn’t work 😀 it just don’t launch. Sad thing…
