crt and lcds good?

hello is this crt good?( MAG innovision 786N ) want to use 640×480 800×600 1024×768 1600×1200 resoultions on it. will these resolution look good on it?

also i found two 1024 x 768 lcd( hp l1502, and acer AL1511) that i have some question for

how bad will 640x480 and 8600x600 look on these two lcds compared to the crt?

of the 2 lcds which one is the better one?

Hi and welcome! 😀

Regarding the CRT from what I can gather it's just an average 17 inch monitor. It supports resolutions up to 1600x1200@68Hz. At this refresh rate you are probably going to notice screen flicker which can be quite bothersome. I would recommend using a CRT that can will display all resolutions you want to use at a minimum of 75Hz. For 1600x1200 I would also recommend getting at least a 19 inch monitor. On a 17 inch monitor 1024x786 - 1280x1024 will look fine.

Objectively 640x480 and 800x600 on fullscreen mode are going to look bad and mushy on those TFTs compared to an average CRT. That being said many people will be fine with a somewhat mushy picture; so if it matters is mostly up to you.

I have no idea which of the two is better.
