Hi!

I have an interesting setup containing an old Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Laptop designed to run Windows XP but it has Windows 98 SE installed on it, so I can play old games with it. It works great and I had an idea to display my games to a bigger screen. The laptop has an AVG output which also works great. So I plugged the AVG output to my TV. SO to the problem at hand.

In Windows 98 it is not possible the change your Primary screen, the only thing you can do is to extend your desktop to the extra display. So launching games just uses the primary screen which is the wrong one.
Is there some kind of program that is able to force Windows to use the other screen as primary?

Another idea that I had was to play games on windowed mode, force fullscreen games to window and just move the window to the extended display. Is there some kind of program to do that for Windows 98?

Some models had a button to cycle between the screens, usually Fn and one of the F keys.

Simply closing the lid can force the primary screen to move to the external device.

Another option quite common is the mirror rather then extend desktop so both screens show the same thing anyway.

This all comes down to the video card drivers though. Win98 supports all of these as long as the driver enables it.
