Recently came down with the Corona so quarantined for now. Since working at home have need of
a few items so could use some feedback on headsets/chairs. Here's a list so far:
Headsets - Razer Kraken Ultimate/Corsair HS70/Hyperx Cloud Alpha/Steelseries Artis 7
Wired/wireless don't matter.

Chairs - VertaGear/SecretLab/Arozzi/NobleChairs/GTOmega
Gaming chairs are at a premium, if you know of any brand office chairs
that would be good I'm all ears. Anything is better than this metal chair
I'm sitting on now (with a pillow!). Thanks ahead for any ideas!

Gaming Headset which is not a gaming headset. Sennheiser HD630VB.

The audio fidelity will completely obliterate anything else out there.

They are also super comfortable.

In-line mic is very nice as well.

Yeah Sennheiser is a brand I keep hearing about, thanks!

yeah, stay away from "gaming" brands for a headset and go for audio brands instead... sennheiser, audio technica, beyerdynamic etc.

I use an audio technica ATH-ADG1X myself, but if I were to buy one again I'd scrap the headset idea altogether and just get a headphone version.

I have a HyperX Cloud Alpha. Some audiophile type site did a review saying the Alpha has really flat response. That confuses me because mine seem quite bass heavy and maybe muffled or distorted or muddy or something (I'm not an audio guy). Maybe it can be fixed with equalization but I haven't been able to do that to my satisfaction.
Everybody has different preferences though. It was funny to me when I looked at reviews and saw how many people say it "has no bass". To me it sounds like it *only* has bass. Maybe they changed something for the fans of that thug rap type music that has no guitars.

I saw somewhere that supposedly the Alpha fits taller heads than whatever it's predecessor was called. That's weird because these are the shortest headphones I've owned, and I had 5 or 6 of my old ones sitting here to compare with (I was in the process of throwing half of them out). The fit is marginally okay but I could use 1 more notch of adjustment.

Meanwhile I spent a few bucks and replaced the foam earpads on an old Bose Triport headphones from ~15 years ago and I find I like the sound of those better than the Alpha.

The Alpha are okay, I just don't love them and I'm being critical here. I'm glad I got them on sale.
They might have good construction - I'm hoping they won't physically break like so many of my other headphones have. That will be a plus.

Just an update, ended going with the Sennheiser gsp 370. Got it on Amazon for less than 200 bucks. Being hearing
impaired, I'm not going to pick up on the "minute nuances" of these. I'm sure they'll sound fine to me. When
they come in I'll give my official take.

Still looking for a decent chair. Gaming chairs seem overpriced/overhyped. Thoughts?

The gaming chairs I've tried weren't very comfortable and don't look great IMO. I bought one of these recently - no help to you because I think this are AU only but just to give you an idea:

https://backcare.com.au/therapod-x-hr

I got the headrest and arms - the arms I've since taken off and the headrest I don't really use. But fundamentally this is just a freaking comfortable chair that suits my bod - nice high back, good tilt options, and good adjustable lumbar. If you do get arms then I think it's important that they go over / under your desk so you can get nice and close.

And it's important to spend a bit of time in a chair too - a good office furniture specialist will help recommend the right chair and then let you sit in it for a while. Also spend a shitload of money on it 😀

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

Ended up getting this chair from Global Industrial: https://www.globalindustrial.com/product/itemKey/32220102

Rated for (24) hours, price seemed right. Couldn't see plopping a wad of cash on a gaming chair when the popular
brands are asking at least 400.00 and on up. I'll do a report on the chair as well as the headset when they arrive.

Many thank for all the comments!

Stay away from those cheap ebay chairs. They degrade quickly. ( plastics crack and imitation leather falls apart ).

I would say a Costco chair or Lazy boy. High back managers chair.
If you sweat allot or live in hot climate then try a mesh back chair like the "herman miller aeron"

I am not familiar with gaming chairs.

Since I got the headset and chair in figured to go ahead give my take:

Sennheiser GSP 370: Sounds superb, only glitch is I wear hearing aids so sometimes the sound will cut in/out if volume is too loud.
But that's the hearing aids compensating, not the headset's fault. Supposedly you 100 hrs. use per charge
which is impressive if true, have not used them enuff to verify that in the least.

Interion chair by Global Industrial: Nice quality, comfortable and the seat is wide enough to tuck one of you're legs under. Just glad
to get away from the metal chair!

I just bought a HERO from Noblechairs, very happy with it:

https://www.noblechairs.com/hero-series

It was important for me to buy a chair with built-in adjustable lumbar support, very many gaming chairs just give you a pillow (lol!)
