VOGONS

I've been trying to record some gameplay footage of Daggerfall, and it seems that the video capture function will only accept midi music from soundblaster cards. I've tested every soundcard that both DOSbox and Daggerfall support (and many they don't), and I get the same results: When I use any soundblaster for midi the recording has music, when I use anything else it doesn't.

This would be just fine, but Daggerfall has 2 sets of music it can use: one set for soundblaster cards and one for everything else. Thing is, I don't like the soundblaster set (the other is far superior), so it's be nice if I could get the video recorder to recognize the midi music from the MPU-401.

There doesn't seem to be any setting in my .conf file to address this. Any ideas?

It can't rip the MPU-401 music as the signals are merely transfered to the existing hardware, while the whole Soundblaster hardware is emulated and output is normally saved as wave output.

Ah, that does make sense. Well, so it seems that I am stcuk with the Soundblaster music set, at least for the purposes of recording. Perhaps I can trick Daggerfall into using the other music set but through a soundblaster card, but as of yet I have not been able to find that particular setting.

Thanks for your help, Freddo.
