Yes, from what I can tell, it is the Ti486 SXL2 - 66 in PGA132 form.

The CT1600 was more of a bonus and wasn't really needed since I already have at least one of every revision that I know of.

The Diamond SpeedStar64 and the CPU were the main reasons I bought it.

Someone would say: Join the exclusive club of Ti486SXL2/66 PGA132 owners 🤣 I guess the circle is getting larger 😁

WOw, what a great system. A 5.25 floppy drive is a must have in any 486 or earlier IMO. Im not too familiar with the parts , but looks like a great system

From practical point of view 5,25" FDD doesn't make any sense nowadays in anything but XTs. I still have it in my 286 just to have a way to create disks for the XTs though.

The installer & drive really look like something that could infect you with custom APT malware if your domain name ends with .gov.

I feel like I need to build a VM that's disconnected from the internet before using that software.

Am I too paranoid?

I did the same thing with mine, so I don't think it's too paranoid. Having said that, nothing bad has happened inside the VM, but even so...

In windows it thinks its a 3.5 inch drive.

Thats probably true... I had one in my P1 because I didnt have a 486 when i first got it.

Not much to say about it. It's pretty solid SB Pro 2 clone with true OPL3 (it will probably have better sound quality than original SB Pro 2) and nice selection of the CD-ROM interfaces which is always handy.

I agree that a 5.25" FDD belongs in any PC from the early 90s

I don't have an RA-50, but I'm pretty sure the "midi message" LED simply means there's incoming midi data on the "midi in" port. This is probably unrelated to the special feature that allows the MT-32 to display TEXT messages from midi data.

that's what a Gotek and some USB sticks are for... image the 5.25" floppies... who knows when they will stop working anyway.

What do you mean "show midi message"? Midi message is not something to be shown and the led you mentioned is just a visual cue that device is receiving midi messages (play notes, volume change and so one).

Okay, I was thinking in the line of MIDI text messages like the MT-32, the hardware inside is pretty much the same, so i dont understand why the RA-50 would not be able to.
Might it have something to do with the ROM? I opened mine to check the battery and caps. All looked fine, but i noticed that the ROM was marked CM32L.
