Wondering if you are still able to ship the USA? I was wanting to get one of the SIMMConn for a SB AWE64 CT4380 and thinking of a S2 for a SB16?

Yes, i can ship to USA again.

Unfortunately I have the issue of not recognizing any edo ram .

I have tried several rams that are already tested on pc,on amiga accelerator etc.

What ever size or jumber setting I try...diagnose.exe gives the internal 4mb ram. ( Awe64 gold) .

Any thoughts please ?? Should I directly speak with Serdaco?

Bad PAL? Or using the value one on your gold card?

My order was for a simmconn gold chip. this is what the invoice also mentions. Can i check it on the hardware ? I just ordered another EDO RAM from ebay 32MB PS/2 EDO SIMM Double Sided Memory 60ns 8Mx32 72-Pin nP 5V LGS GM71C17403CJ6 , but i will have to wait a month to verify.... 🙁

Hello,

To double check the chip : gold chip has yellow or white sticker with 'G' on it (value chip has a green sticker with 'V' on the chip),
if you have value model and need a gold one, i will send you the correct chip, no worries. (just PM me your address)
The jumper settings look good, so I hope the new RAM module will work. (check this thread for know compatible modules... not everything works)
If not I will send you a replacement pal chip to try.

good luck !
S

Although I just bought this ram for the upgrade, seems to be incompatible. Chip is gold..let's wait one month for the verified ram. Thanks for the prompt replies and support .

Hello guys.
I am thinking about making similar device and looking for technical data on AWE64 memory connector.
I don't want to use already existing project like simmconn (or use it as less as possible) and would like to try making my own using modern parts.
Original source code from simmconn has helped a lot, but I am trying to find full technical documentation for AWE64 memory expansion connector.

Not sure if they've been posted already, but here's the (original remake?) gerber files, PAL programming, and updated BOM.. I checked at JLCPCB, and they upload fine and pass the DRC. Last I saw, everything was sold out and weren't being made anymore, so make your own. 😀

BOM:

edit: I updated the BOM and Mouser cart -- the bus transceivers are SOP-20, not SSOP-20. The Altium component spec listed the wrong package size.

Updated the BOM and Mouser cart. The bus transceiver was listed as the wrong size in Altium, so that has been corrected. I went to solder it up tonight and couldn't finish because I had to make another Mouser order. Doh! At least I can use the SSOP bus transceivers in other projects.

Oh, I'll also note that I tried to program the Lattice 16V8 PAL chips in the TL866II-Plus programmer, and it didn't have that chip listed and other supposedly compatible GAL/PAL chips would erase it but then get a memory error upon programming. (unless there's another trick I don't know)

The Atmel 16v8 PAL chip I have listed at the end of the BOM and in the Mouser cart will work, and I have successfully programmed with the Gold and Value JEDEC files using the TL866II-Plus.
