I have a strong feeling I'm asking the K6-2+ CPU I have to go too far with this one, but I would like some confirmation that I'm correct.
I wanted to play Clive Barker's undying on my retro PC, which I bought off GOG and moved over (removing the nGlide files), but the framerate is pretty bad.

Specs:
Win 98 SE
AMD K6-2+ @600mhz
128 MB PC100
3DFX Voodoo 3 3000 @166mhz
Aureal Vortex 2

When I've found benchmarks for this game on the V3, they are almost always accompanied with a monster (for the time period) CPU, to max out the possible fps, so they don't really give a good idea what to expect from something like my system.
As I've said, I highly expect the CPU is just not powerful enough for this game, but I'd really like to know if anyone else can tell me what the performance is like on similar systems.

CPU not powerful enough is right. It's known to be a particularly heavy one back in the day. Early 2001 saw enough new games to make a K6-2 feel obsolete.

Keep in mind that the AMD K6 series aren't as strong with these kind of games as for instance a Pentium II. I've ran benchmarks with Quake 2 (in software rendering mode, 640x480) and my AMD K6-2 550+ scores with 20FPS (average) just between a Celeron 333 and Celeron 366 which is then followed by the Pentium II 350.

On my box of Undying I see that a Pentium II 400 is considered minimum spec so basically you're playing slightly under minimum specs. Time to upgrade to the new fast Athlon (a 500MHz model gets 35FPS (Quake 2 average)! 😜

That's ok, I built this box specifically for certain things. I'll just play Undying on my modern pc then.
Thanks for the feedback.
