You tried BioMenace run directly from Windows? It worked for me, when I had that game.
The same regards to the Commander Keen series. I could ran them directly from XP.

Huh? The game works under XP, but not with sound.
Dunno what's so insulting about it. Maybe you should
ask MS why they didn't include vdmsound-like capabilities
in the first place.
