This is my "finished" super-socket 7 system.
- K6-2 / 500 AFX
- OEM socket A cooler, with a little more strenght on the clip... , replaced with a 60mm silent fan.
- Shuttle HOT 597 (VIA MVP3)
- 64Mb SD-RAM PC100
- actually installed: Riva 128 , will be replaced later with: RivaTNT2
- ISA sound card - Avance logic ALS100+
- MPU401 - Dreamblaster S1
- IDE to SD adapter with a 32Gb SD card inside. Much more than i'll need...
- Lite-On optical drive. 32x speed. The CD writer function is not needed.
- 3.5" disk drive
- Levicom WIN-350PS (350W), with fully recapped capacitors (the medium, big and biggest capacitors), also replaced the PSU fan with two 80mm Arctic F8 silent
- 92mm case fan - Arctic F9 silent
- Chieftec ATX case - beige
Originally, I've searched a period correct case for that system. I had bought this beige case from ebay long time ago.
A chieftec, but not the one i 've had myself back in the day. It is more flat at the front panel. After i have changed my opinion to sell this case again,
I have switched the plan to rebuild this super socket 7 system.
Sure, a K6-2+ or K6-3+ would be nice, but with the money i've spent back in the day (~10€ including board), the K6-2 is fast and flexible enough to my needs.
Too bad, that i've lost my V3-2000 back in the day. It was a time when you have no interest to old hardware anymore...
Right now, i am playing with the installed Riva128: Tomb Raider
