Is W2K SP4 now running OK, did you install http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=891861 ?

Had to restart with another HD, hanging at user and password and couldn't finish installation

If you can get the memory total up to 512MB I'd heartily recommend XP SP3, that's what I run on my PPro dually. But 256MB is a bit anemic for XP

I don't have 64MB ram sticks.
Only 32 and one proved faulty, I'm on 190MB...

Now it won't go past credentials and freeze.
Boots into safe mode. Headache

At least SIV works in safe mode.
What do you want me to do?
I'm here with the pc on at my side.

Edit: It's a bit oa chore without mouse.
I'll swithc back to NT4.

Edit 2: ISA VGA saved the day. Prolly a bad contact on the PCI card. One of the ram socket was broken on a side.

Thank you for checking it out, but I am wondering if the SIV driver will start in Safe Mode, what does Menu->Windows->Services->Control SIV report?

I would like the two files generated by doing Menu->File->Save Local ideally with the SIV driver running. I would prefer NT4 with SIV Driver running to W2K without it.

The .DMI file is a binary dump of the raw data that the [Machine] panel reports, when I have it SIV runs better in test mode and I am often able to use it to improve what SIV reports for elderly systems.

I wonder if SIV will report it, which card is it? I managed to make it report my ISA Kelvin64 so if it doesn't I suspect I will be able to adjust it.

I used a Trio64v+, but ram socket are broken, upgraded from 1024 to 2048 but probably some pin aren't making contact naymore and as it reaches a certain area it fails.

ISA card is RTVGA_V2_91024_B - Realtek

I'll post a few pics of the menu.
The thing works.

Graphics sucks tho...

I've seen in other pics that you have a menu, arrow on the right side (scroll menu), the arrow doesn't show in VGA, have to click on it o show menu

I'll try another time but it keeps rebooting at some point.

If you look at the last line of the .TXT file that should be the section being processed when there was the issue. You can skip that section by doing Menu->File->Save->Save Selected and deselecting that section before pressing [ Start ].

Nice build. I have a similar system with an Intel 440FX board running 2 Pentium II Overdrives, 512MB RAM and NT 4.0 SP6a and is currently my legacy file server and PDC for my Win3.x/OS/2/DOS systems. The thing runs like a champ!

Nice build indeed but gonna store it until I get my hands on a cool case.
